Dot blinked.  It felt... anticlimactic.  She then shrugged and entered the
port.

She was unceremoniously deposited on the street on which she had first
entered the Ether.  Asha's avatar stood there waiting for her, the shadow of
a smile on her lips.  

"Excellent work," she said cheerily.  "Your performance was well above even
a graded hacker.  You recovered well from the recursion mistake, and though
Rook would say that your reluctance to use your AI was foolhardy, I never
suffer from a problem, even though I don't have one."

She looked down the street at the massive towers that lit up the landscape
with their digital glow.  "Come.  Walk with me," she said, even as she
started down the sidewalk.

Though their speed was only a fraction of those around them, the other
passersby gave them a wide berth as Asha led them onward.  "You looked a bit
let down as you came through the port.  What is it?"
