[Hogwarts Between] Expectations Fulfilled

The vigor of the crowd was quickly rising. Those standing out in front
of the station seemed the most in touch with this energy. Children were
grabbing trunks, picking up owl cages, and hugging their parents. Each
of the lines of people standing in front of the large windows fell
apart, except for the line in front of the middle window. Here
everyone just turned to look.

Many of those around the barrier end of the train station moved to the
front near the tracks to find the source of the commotion.

A ghostly sound seemed to echo around the low rolling hills which
surrounded the platform. It seemed to come from no particular
direction, almost as if the hills themselves were moaning. The sound
only lasted about five seconds. Then it happened again. 

The sound then took on a high pitched quality. It happened again and
again, each time the pitch became higher. Then a rumbling could be
heard far off. This did not come in short bursts but was constant. 
Then a hiss and the scrape of metal on metal could be heard.

In the distance, puffs of grey smoke could be seen drifting into the
air. There was another cheer from the crowd. Finally, in the distance
on the track could be seen the black form of a train engine. A small
gold emblem on the top edge flashed and glittered in the sunlight as it
came closer and closer. Those with good eye sight could see the "5972"
official designation of what was written on the red plaque below the
emblem: "Hogwarts Express."

Louder and louder the deep rumble became as it approached the station
reaching an almost deafening level which drowned out all conversations.
The squeal of the scraping of metal intensified as the train slowed to
meet the station. Smoke filled the area under the canopy roof and the
engine’s rumble echoed around everything. The engine passed the
platform pulling behind it red passenger cars. With one final ear
piercing whistle blast the train came to a halt. 

The doors on each of the passenger cars swung open signaling with a
crack the beginning of the rush of Hogwarts students onto the train.



   
   
  At this point Amber wanted to do three things at once. She lurched forward tward her lugage but then remembered her grandfather then turned to say goodbye. Then as she turned she saw Kayden and remembered him. Since she was already there she quickly said the words,"Sit with me?" at Kayden before bolting to her lugage and hugging her grandfather farewell.
