When Paloma dipped down the tape measure formed a loop at one end and
snapped at her wrist, much like someone would with a wet towel. It
smarted.
"Hold still please, Miss Paloma," Ollivander said idly. He turned back
to the new arrivals. "I will be with you shortly, Mr. Windermere.
Please make yourselves comfortable."
He motioned to several chairs along the wall by the doorway that both
the girls and the Windermeres were pretty sure were not there a moment
ago. Upholstered in faded blue velvet, they looked like they belonged
in a museum exhibit on the Regency era.
Ollivander then turned back to Paloma. The tape measure flew to his
outstretched hand and he examined it intently for a brief moment
before turning to regard his shelves of little boxes. "Hmmm...now
where are those new wands.... Oh, yes. Here we are."
He went and retrieved a box from the bottom of the back wall and
returned with it to Paloma. Inside was an iridescent white wand very
obviously not made of wood. "Try this one, Miss Paloma. Pick it up and
give it a go."
[OOC: I wrote quite a bit, so feel free to go back and insert
responses, etc. where appropriate.]
