His father was thoughtful. "You do realize that most shopkeepers here
in the village try to keep rats out of their establishments, not
invite them in?"

"Well, I suppose perhaps the Magical Menagerie might have a well
trained Noweigan Roof Rat," he allowed with a wink for Kadyn. "But you
have to promise to keep it out of Cecelia's things and out of the
common room."

"Bloody right he will," Cecelia answered as she finished setting the
tables and drew the blinds.

Ryan looked to Harriet, "But the supplies we can pick up at Dervish &
Banges, his robes at Gladrags, and other sundries at Scrivenshaft's,
before we head to London, agreed?" He was proud of his place here in
Hogsmeade and was going to give what business he could back to the
community. The possibility of a friendly discount for a neighbor
crossed his mind as well.

[OOC: The three shops above are all from Hogsmeade and would be like
shopping at the local store instead of going to the one in the big
city. Not as exciting, but cheaper and in Kadyn's father's eyes, more
loyal to his friends. They still have books and the rat to pick up at
Diagon Alley, plus they'll be staying overnight at the Leaky Cauldron
so Kadyn can catch the Express the next day.]
