Samantha took the letter and looked at it closely. She smiled. "The
list hasn't changed much since I went to school. We can pick all your
supplies up in Diagon Alley. Your cauldron is the traditional place to
hold all your stuff while we're shopping, and a little levitation
spell is all that's needed to maneuver it around."
She put the letter down on the table and gave her son a hug. "Your
father and I know it's a big adjustment, but we also know that you'll
do fine. You'll be great!" She kissed the top of his head--which she
could still do, but only barely--and smiled again. "So where's my
birthday cake?"
Collin laughed and handed her a piece. "So when are you planning to go
to this Diagon Alley place? And would that be a good time for me to
come with you and register?"
Heath's mother nodded. "The Ministry of Magic is not in the same
place, but perhaps you can take a day off work and we can spend it all
together before Heath goes off to school. Heath, would you like that?
Do you want to come with us to the Ministry?"
