But nothing happened. Not even a spark.

Ollivander frowned. He replaced the wand in Amber's grasp with one
made from a darker wood. "Walnut, 7 inches, phoenix feather core. Try
this one."

When Amber twirled the new wand, she was rewarded with faint hissing
noise and a small pop. Then nothing.

Ollivander frowned again.
