"Let's go back then. Heath, I'm sure Berry can find whatever it is she
was sent to find without our help. We have other business here today,
in case you've forgotten." Samantha arched an eyebrow at her son,
smiled a quick farewell to Berry, and moved the boys back to Eugene
and Collin with all the attentiveness of a collie herding a flock of
errant sheep.

When they reached the line, Collin was standing off to the side and
Eugene was talking to the wizard behind the desk, since he'd been next
in line.

"What happened?" Samantha asked.

"I need to go to the Department of Magical Law Enforcement--wow, it
sounds like I've done something wrong, hasn't it? I need a registered
witch or wizard to escort me," Collin answered.

Samantha nodded. "Let's wait until Eugene is done, first. I'd like to
say goodbye."

Collin gave Heath the same arched eyebrow that his mother had given
him just a moment ago.
