Dot considered her options, and set about trying to set up
counterfrequencies, perhaps weakening the assault she was receiving, and
maybe disturbing the creature.  She ducked behind more detritus, and let her
first creation go, perhaps to cause havoc... But hopefully to give her a
little more time.

The worm streaked towards the hostile program, which didn't even bother to
dodge.  It seemed that its instincts were correct- Dot's projectile splashed
against the program's code on impact, spreading to become only a small stain
on its outer shell.

Opening it's main orifice wide, the construct vomited a massive cone of
energy towards Dot, and even as it bore down on her, she could discern that
the code algorithms were indeed of the same style as those that had
'possessed' Pretty.  But none of that mattered now, as her alerts were
blaring the hostile nature of the streams of energy heading towards her.
She was only barely able to find a piece of code large enough to obscure her
avatar- it sizzled and popped with the impact, and though it held, would be
unable to stand up to a sustained assault.

...defect in code found.  routing exploit...

The callback from her creation finally reported, at the same nanosecond that
the assault ceased.  Though it did not appear that her worm was causing
significant damage, it was indeed proving to be an effective distraction...
For now.
