After the trip to get to the hub, the transition into the Deep Ether was
anticlimactic.  There was a shifting as disorienting when she had plugged in
for the first time- almost as if she were plugging in again.  Then nothing.

Darkness deeper than the darkest night surrounded her, interspersed with
pinpricks of light- some closer than others, some brigher than others, some
larger than others- but all were indistinct at this distance.  It was akin
to the night sky at it's clearest.  She noted that the darkness was kept at
bay by a similar light emanating from her own avatar as she floated in the
void.  

A red light pulsed in her HUD, calling for her attention- notification from
her navigation software that it awaited her input.

Dot looked at the display, wondering for a moment what to use as input.  She
decided to forego it for the moment, focusing her will on her target before
setting system.

The HUD reconfigured itself to her thoughts, the scanning software working
on the parameters that had been programmed into it.  For a long moment,
nothing happened, but soon enough, a small red arrow appeared in her HUD,
pointing to the left and upward.  As she turned in that direction, the arrow
became smaller, and adjusted itself to her turn, until it became a dot on
her display, pulsing slowly- marking her target in the void.

A single line of text scrolled across the lower portion of her vision.
"Trace complete.  Vector to target?"

Dot thought her way through a complex path, setting the computer to take an
indirect route before also thinking herself into stealth mode, her clothing
becoming an almost perfect blend to the background.
