[Cyberia] Re: Cyberia: An Ill-Met Welcome

Dot listened, carefully taking in the words. "May I get a copy of the
plans? I would like to see how invasive... and if it can be undone. I
think I'll still do it, but I'd feel better."

Asha nodded. "No problem," she responded. "We can go through the whole
process virtually, and you can see everything as it's done also."

"And we can improve it!" Suhuy bounced in his seat, his clothes giving up a
storm of collected dust. "We're good at that, you know. Very good.
Especially me. I make things better all the time. Look at Pretty!" He
motioned at the peicemeal creature sniffing at his master's ankles, giving a
machanical grown whenever its backleg misfired.

+++++

"Sometimes, less is more," Asha said, looking over to Suhuy. She seemed to
have become more comfortable with him- it seemed that she thought she had a
handle on the man. "You'll see- I'm more than sure Dot the plug will be
sufficient for her."

"Now, give me one minute, and we can show you quite a bit of what will
happen." Seemingly looking at nothing, Asha stood almost stock still for a
few moments, akin to what had happened earlier before she proposed this
path.

"I just switched to holographic interface- it will allow you to see as I
interact in the Ether. This area isn't wired for access, but Rook helped me
set up a pirate broadcast station in the building- being mostly metal, it
does well as a giant antenna."

Bringing one hand up and pointing to an area in front of them, a large
screen rezzed into existence. Though it was transluscent, the visual was
quite clear. As she moved her hands through the air like a maestro
directing a symphony, screens appeared and disappeared in rapid succession,
until the main screen held a projection of a anatomical model of the human
body. With a wave of her hand, the screen disappeared, leaving only the
model in thin air.

With another wave of her hand, a small avatar of a surgeon appeared and
began to speak. "The neural interface plug is a technological marvel- the
perfect blending of bio- and cyber- technology to create an interface to the
software of any properly equipped piece of machinery."

The avatar related the functions and development of the neural interface
plug, and the details of the implantation operation over a 30 minute
whirlwind of information. Asha took the chance to study the responses of
Dot and Suhuy to the crash course, sitting in silence during the
dissertation. After it was over, she gesstured, and the imagery
disappeared.

"The operation is so commonplace that it takes no time- you can have your
choice of a few locations- the wrist is common for machine interfaces. The
temple and behind the ear are also possibilities, in addition to rear of the
skull. One thing I would like to point out is that this video was created
for Baselines. Alphas do not need a filter from the information pouring in-
a boon since it frees you from the need for a deck to interface to the
Ether." She stood, stretching her long limbs like a cat up from an
afternoon in the sun. "If you don't have any questions, we can get this
done, so you can get some training in the use of your new wetware."

She looked expectantly toward Dot, even as she moved towards the door.
